COVID-19 updates

July 8, Metropolitan Melbourne Lockdown

With the escalation of Covid-19 cases in Victoria, metropolitan Melbourne has returned to stage 3 stay-at-home restrictions, so once again we will be closing dining for our Campbellfield & Hoppers Crossing stores. To do our part, we will be staying open for over the counter Takeaway, online preorder pickups / Deliveries.

We also see the seriousness of the situation, so we have expanded our sanitary precautions. To reiterate, we are temperature testing all of our staff, as well as upgrading our sanitary equipment used. Our kitchen is now equipped with medical-grade sanitizers and gloves, to prevent spreading of germs, as much as we possibly can.

We would like to thank you all for your continued support in these difficult times. Supporting our community & local businesses is how we will get through this together, and we have great pride in our community which we have seen come together to support each other

Much love from the Burgies family.

June 26, Campbellfield Indoor Dining

Due to the growing concern surrounding the ‘hot spot’ suburbs around our Campbellfield location, including Broadmeadows and Fawkner, we have decided to close our indoor dining. Our Campbellfield location will remain open for Pick-up & Delivery orders, and our Hoppers Crossing location will be operating as usual with no interruptions to service.

We take the health and safety of our staff and customers extremely seriously, and we made the decision to take this safety precaution with this motivation. We hope everyone stays safe and we look forward to seeing you all once the Victorian Covid-19 situation is once again under control.

We will keep you informed as to when we will be reopening dining, so stay tuned to our social media pages.

Much love from the Burgies family.

May 18, Victorian procedure & response to COVID-19

As you may have seen, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced his plan to open dining areas at the start of next month. We are excited to see you all when we reopen, and in the meantime we are looking to make sure our dining areas are clean, safe & conforming to the social distancing & capacity guidelines so that our diners will be able to feel completely comfortable when dining at Burgies.

Much love from the Burgies family.

May 11, Hoppers Delivery Radius Expansion

We are excited to announce that we have expanded our Hoppers Crossing Delivery Radius to 7km from 5km. This is just the start, we will continue to work through our logistics to expand our delivery radiuses for both our Campbellfield & Hoppers Crossing stores, so hold tight, we haven’t forgotten you.

We are so pleased to hear from everyone excited for our reach to expand & we are so thankful from the response from everyone.

April 9, Holidays Update

We are happy to see that Australians have been putting in the yards and properly social distancing. Our Coronavirus cases have slowed down, so now that we know what is working, we need to continue along the road we’ve paved.

We will remain open for Pick-up & Delivery, as well as keeping on top of our hygenic procedures and safety measures for our staff and customers. This includes taking our staff members’ temperature before each shift to ensure their safety.

We hope you enjoy your holidays,

Much love from the Burgies Family

With the roll-out of our Online Delivery platform at our Hoppers Crossing location, our Online Delivery launch is complete!

March 23, Closing our indoor dining spaces

Last night, Sunday March 22nd, we learned that the Victorian and Federal government would put into place a more comprehensive lock down procedures to combat the spread of COVID-19, which includes closing non-essential services and schools over the next 48 hours.

Due to this, we fast-tracked the roll out of our online ordering and delivery platform to provide our service to our community during the lock down period.

We are still providing take-away, pickup phone orders, our online order delivery  service and now have closed our indoor dining areas. Currently our delivery service is only available at our Campbellfield location, but we aim to push our Hoppers Crossing delivery online within the next 48 hours.

March 22, Indoor dining precautions & online delivery

We have taken further precautions tonight to our indoor dining. Currently we have adjusted our tables to increase distance between dining spaces, as well as closed our play areas and are ready to expand our outdoor seating space as well.

We would also like to announce that our delivery platform is up and running at our Campbellfield location. Our current radius is 5kms of the store, with plans to expand to our Hoppers Crossing location early next week

March 18, An update to our procedures and responses to COVID-19

In response to the recent announcement from the Prime Minister this morning banning indoor gatherings of over 100 people, sensibility and safety must be put at the forefront of our decisions.

As of Wednesday the 18th, we would like to advise our customers of the following:

  • We advise all of our customers to purchase takeaway and minimize how often they dine in.
  • we will no longer be providing trays with service, all our food will be given in our disposable paper bags. The purpose of this is to eliminate the handling of food trays.
  • We have closed our children’s play areas.
  • We strongly advise phoning through your order ahead of time so that we can prepare your order and have it ready for you when you arrive. Please not that you are welcome to come and place your order as usual
  • When paying for your order, we encourage you to use payWave, PayPass or other tap-to-pay options. This is again, to minimize contact.

We are understanding of the fact that delivery apps are being favored at the moment, but we would like to remind you that ordering directly and picking up ensures that the small businesses aren’t losing a large cut (upwards of 40%) to delivery apps. It is crucial that we continue to support our small businesses and our community.

We are also working as fast as humanly possible on our own online ordering and delivery platform, which we are excited to release within the next week. Stay tuned for a further announcement soon.

Please rest assured that we are still here, still open, and still wanting to bring you a moment of joy in serving the burgers you’ve come to know and love. However, it is also crucial that we do everything we can to support our staff, families, and our customers throughout these difficult times.
